Acaí is the fruit of a wild palm tree from the Amazon forest. Rich in vitamin B, minerals, fiber, protein, and omegas 3, 6, and 9, acaí is considered a super food of the 21st century. It is also has some of the highest antioxidant levels of any fruit in the world (33 times greater than those of the grapes used to make red wine). Indigenous communities eat acaí berries as an energy snack. The flavor is often described as having shades of chocolate and vanilla.

Production System: Sustainable harvesting of natural forests. Acaí harvesting allows local communities to generate economic value from forests and thus contributes to forest conservation in the Amazon region.
